Today is my dads bday, he would have been 56. I want more than anything to celebrate his life and not mourn his loss.

I honor you today father for your humor wisdom and wit.

Your devotion, all these things never dimly lit

But like fire, swept into our lives

gracing over the deepest part of our souls

In this moment I share with your spirit

my deepest love magnified to fly

up to where you may lie.

As the sun sets like it did in your eyes

The rays of your presence still shine bright in our lives.

So to extend Gratitude and Love on your special day

I pray to God this makes its way.

Because on your birthday

I want to make sure you know

I admire you sincerely, i LOVE you dearly

and those feelings continue to grow

quote nothing is original. steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. if you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. and don’t bother concealing your thievery — celebrate it if you feel like it. in any case, always remember what jean luc godard said: “it’s not where you take things from — it’s where you take them to.

Drawn mainly from the collections of the National Library of Medicine, Dream Anatomy shows off the anatomical imagination of past anatomy enthusiasts in some of its most astonishing incarnations, from 1500 to the present. I found it veeerrrry interesting.
